Does anyone remember the show on the USA network called USA High? This was another rip-off of Saved By The Bell, done by the same people.
The setting was an "American Academy" in Paris. Conveniently, in this version of Paris, everyone spoke English and used dollars as the currency. :-) The characters were: Winnie (the sassy black girl) Lauren (the hot girl that everyone wanted) Ashley (the sweet and naive headmaster's daughter) Jackson (the guitar-playing surfer who just moved from California) Christian (the hot German athlete) Lazzarini (the typical New York Italian guy) Mr. Elliot (the idiot headmaster) Ms. Dupre (the French teacher with the disappearing and re-appearing French accent who taught every subject)
I thought that this show was the most realistic out of all of the other Peter Engel shows. It portrayed the teens in a slightly less wholesome "golly gee" kind of way. It was still a FAR cry from real life, but I found it entertaining.
I wish this show would come out on DVD. At least one of the songs that Jackson played ("Too Much To Dream") was also a song that Jake played on California Dreams. In fact I think this was the song that both of them had stolen by their "idols."

I used to love that show. It was so Saved By The Bell: The Exchange Student Years

I used to love this show. The eppies with Laz are better than the ones with Excess (who was great on Cali Dreams). One thing I really liked about this show was the goofy mindless cheese. I don't really remember alot of that VSE stuff like they did on some of the other teen shows. I likes me some wacky hijinks and this show had plenty.
I shipped Lauren & Christian from the beginning and was disappointed that they never got together. Did Winnie annoy the living hell out of anyone else? I always wanted Lauren and Ashley to gang up on her and beat her down. Ashley & Jackson were cute in that one eppie where they were sorta dating.
I totally remember Jackson singing 'Too Much to Dream'. I was all, he ripped off Jake Sommers, lol.

I watched an episode the other day and the dorm room is exactly the same as Saved By The Bell, The College Years!! Everytime I watch USA High the theme tune gets stuck in my head all day!

Seriously, tonight is like a walk down memory lane. This is another show that I remember and none of my friends do. I never liked it as much as I liked Saved by the Bell or California Dreams, but I liked it.

Man, what a great show. The best thing about this show was that it came on daily. I loved that!

I never knew anyone else wathced that? I think the femal teacher was a Miss Universe or Miss America or somthing, but she was HOT! Yes same set from the Collge Years. If i am not mistaken, wasn't the actor who played the Headmaster the brother of Chirstopher Guest (Spinal Tap, Best in Show, etc)?

I don't know what's worse, the fact that I remember this show or the fact that I remember that annoying phrase Winnie use to say...."that is H-O-T Hot!".
2 questions, 1) wasn't Lauren suppose to be from another country? Because I think she had an accent.
And 2) wasn't there a black guy that became part of the cast some time later?

The black guy was named Excess, he was played by the same guy who played Tony on California Dreams. By this time, he looked 49 years old, so he didn't blend in well at all. Laz was much, much better.

I seriously haven't thought about this show in so long...ah. I'd love to get my hands on some back episodes. Anyone know where I might be able to find them?

Yeah, I know I was shocked that she managed to find another job after this show. Kidding! Actually, the guy who played Jackson was in Thinner. I think his face melts off or something.

Yeah, Lauren was the female American student. Winnie was American, too. But Lauren was the beauty of the show, and Jackson's love interest, as far as I remember.

Oh God... Not only do I remember USA High, I was watching it the other day. I still have lots of episodes tape and boy, they never get old.
Laz was the shiz, I hated when he was replaced by "Tony".
Christian and Winnie were great. I love that she scared him and that he did everything she wanted. Jackson and Lauren didn't really have any chemistry but on principle they had to get them together, I guess.
