I just realized that in ALL the episodes, Elaine was the only character to have a cell phone, and we didnt see her use it until the finale (calling to ask Jill how her father was). So, you mean to tell me that in 180 episodes, no one ever called Elaine on her cell phone, and none of the other characters needed one?
what do u guys think?

cell phones weren't that good in the mid 90's. not many people had a cell phone then.

What episode did we find out that Elaine owned a cell phone?

In that case, perhaps Elaine had only just got herself a cell phone?

Cell phones weren't as common as they are now back in the Seinfeld days...I'm not at all surprised that none of the fab four had one.

Kramer used one from the mail truck in The Bottle Deposits to call Jerry when he and Newman were following Jerry's stolen car.

Oh that's right, good call, but he stopped using it almost immediately.

It's amazing to see how popular cell phones have become in such a short space of time.

cellular: of, relating to, or being a radiotelephone system in which a geographical area (as a city) is divided into small sections each served by a transmitter of limited range so that any available radio channel can be used in different parts of the area simultaneously

I agree, cell phones weren't hugely popular during most of the regular run of Seinfeld. People had car phones first, but they weren't as popular to common people. I got my cell late 97, but still a lot of people didn't have them then. Before long, it will probably be hard to find someone with a landline.

I don't think landline phones will disappear, but rather there'll be more and more people who have their own cell phones.
