Either you love it or hate it. "Seinfeld" is in my opinion a masterpiece of the sitcom-genre.
Although you will find a lot of "dirty" or "tasteless" - depends on how one might define these terms - jokes in the series, Seinfeld goes far beyond what classic sitcoms like "Married... with children" represent.
Seinfeld is a show for people who can not only laugh about the mistakes of others but who will laugh about the things they do in their everyday life. Everyone who can have a critical view on his own life will find pieces of it in the adventures of Jerry, Elaine, George and Cosmo.

BEST TELEVISION SHOW EVER! 10/10 First thing that makes "Seinfeld" a great show is that it simply delivers what the fans want: COMEDY! There are no serious or weepy moments or any moral lessons, which are totally unnecessary for a sitcom. The show doesn't want to teach it wants to entertain. And that's where "Seinfeld" succeeds brilliantly.
The writing is great: The plot is realistic and deals with everyday issues (also those we'd rather keep to ourselves). The dialogs are very smart. The characters are very entertaining: Jerry's character is fun, but the other three main characters (Elaine, Kramer and George) are even better.

A great show! Seinfeld is a truly funny show, which I watch whenever I can. The series is based around 4 characters: Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer + lots of other characters. The characters are funny and and manage to get you laughing all the time. Excellent show, but it is a shame that they have stopped making new episodes. I want more!

Nothing will ever be the same again As a show about nothing, "Seinfeld" managed to achieve more than the majority of shows about something, and then did a hell of a lot more as well. One of the most innovative and original spins on the sitcom formula, Jerry Seinfeld & co. obsessed themselves with the ordinary, mundane details of everyday life and found a comic edge that so many people could easily relate to. Finding humour in such routine events as parking a car or waiting in line for the cinema might seem like a task that most television shows would avoid. After all, each and every one of us experiences things like that everyday - don't we? Exactly. In its deceptively simple approach, "Seinfeld" managed to open up a world of hilarity that has to rank as one of American television's finest hours - not that there's anything wrong with that!

One of the best of the decade! Seinfeld was a show of shows, it was about nothng, and that's where resided its greatness, it dealt with all the little things that everyone has to go through everyday in the funniest way, the show was hilarious, great writing, who can forget Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer antics?, one of the best episodes on any show ever was "the contest", I miss this show so much but thank god to reruns, Seinfeld will always be remembered as one of the funniest and greatest sitcoms ever, it was always outstanding over all the yadayadayada!

Genius You could not possibly imagine my consternation when I saw comments about Seinfeld to the tune of "this show bites!" It strikes me as sad that America as a nation can produce such masterful comedy as Seinfeld, and also produce the sort of philistine who doesn´t appreciate the show`s brilliance.
Each individual half-hour episode weaves a bewildering web of plot strands, all of them seemingly unrelated, before drawing them together for a conclusion that leaves a warm feeling of contentment, which is marred only by a vague regret that it all had to end so soon.
I agree that the last series wasn´t quite up to the previous standard, but it was still head and shoulders above any other sitcom. There was one sequence in particular that stood out, in which Jerry and George were trying to plan "the switch", ie Jerry ditching his current girlfriend for her flatmate. The planning sequence itself was a delight, but George´s final plan is as funny a scene as any in the history of film, television, the stage, or literature. It made me laugh so loud and long that I suffered serious chest pains. Isn´t that all the recommendation a comedy needs?

how can anyone think seinfeld stinks? i dont understand how anyone can watch this show and not love it. it isnt even right to say seinfeld is the best thing ever on television. seinfeld is bigger than television. it is above television. it goes God, then jerry seinfeld, then the rest of the world. each episode is scripture. and for someone to say this show is not funny is downright sick. if you do not like seinfeld you probably have a mental condition. seek help. please.

A good comedy This one really knows how to make me laugh you know, there's the eccentric and slightly weird Kramer, the asocial, lying, unlucky and mentally disordered George, the career woman Elaine who can get quite nasty and sometimes is a bit asocial too and of course there is Jerry with his cleaning tic who has got quite the problem of finding a fitting (perfect) girlfriend. Of course there also is Newman, who is a friend of Kramer's but who has some kind of a feud with Jerry.
What I really laugh about most here is George's and Elaine's asocial behaviour, Kramer's strangeness, Jerry's comic remarks and of course everyone's ability to put someone they are dating into the ground for little things: a big nose or the high talking for example. It is really good and it's a pity they stopped making it.

The ONLY watchable sitcom on TV Seinfeld is a show about a group of people who run into different situations everyday. These people are not quite ordinary, so it's interesting to see how they react in these weird situations. The reason why Seinfeld is so juicy is because you have the weird situation AND the weird person so you'll never know how one will react to the other.
For those who say Seinfeld is about "nothing", I beg to differ. Each show focuses on something else. Who can forget the episode with the illegal showerheads, Kramer making dinner in his shower, and Jerry with his girlfriends. Each girlfriend he finds has something wrong with her.
In summary, Seinfeld is the most enjoyable and greatest sitcom ever made.

Seinfeld - The Show 10/10
'Seinfeld' was a good show. What I don't understand about the series now in syndication is why they never repeat the 'Puerto Rican Day' episode. This was the second-to-last episode before the series ended. The studio suits claimed it was offensive to the Puerto Rican people because Kramer accidentally sets the Puerto Rican flag on fire with his cigar; a Cuban cigar. There were far more offensive episodes that caused more controversy than this ep. We all know which ones I mean so I won't list them. But please show all the episodes in syndication, Castle Rock people.
Also, I would like to say how funny the outtakes from 'Seinfeld' are. Before the final episode landed the Fantastic Four in jail, there was about a half an hour of outtakes from the series. Every time I watch this on tape I laugh even though I've seen it about twenty times. My idea is to bring back 'Seinfeld' on a weekly basis again. Only this time, show just the outtakes from episode number one through to the end of the series. It could be on for another eight years and wouldn't cost much to splice old footage together. Each episode would be the original show's outtakes. True fans who have seen each episode countless times would love this. What is funnier than watching actors blow their lines and crack themselves up? I tell you, there is nothing more infectious than seeing a beloved character suddenly go 'out of character' and bust out laughing. It would be twice the success of 'America's Funniest Home Videos.' And it could be called 'The Real Seinfeld.' Put it on Thursdays after 'Friends.' A guaranteed hit.

Over and Over... I watch the syndicated shows and I still almost choke laughing even though I have seen most of them 5-6 times. This show's sense of humor meshed with mine almost perfectly. Jerry, George, Elaine, Kramer, Newman etc are sorely missed, and we shall not see their likes again (unless they come back at some point, please, please!)

The high art of telling stories where there aren't any... 10/10 Like many of my friends which I meanwhile infected with the Seinfeld virus, I needed some episodes to get accustomed with this show.
At first it seemed to be artificial, exaggerated. But after about ten episodes, when I learned what there was to know about the characters' special ways, I was hooked. Since then, I saw most of the show and love nearly every episode.
It is funny, and other to my first impression, it is real. These characters live through the daily hassles which we encounter in our own personal lives as well. They struggle through the 90's culture, trying to find sense where there is none to be found.
Seinfelds character is surrounded by a totally crazy bunch of friends: Elayne, played by the extraordinary actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who can display a breathtaking array of facial impressions within the shortest of times. George, the poor loser who has something of us all in him - a true hero cause he never gives up, and in the same time a dumbass because he spoils so many of his chances to get lucky. And of course Kramer, the most improbable character in TV history, who keeps on surprising his friends and the audience with his weird behavior and ideas.
And though many episodes turn out in rather unlikely ways, the core within every story is something which could happen to us all - be it double-dipping, annoying doormen or old-fashioned parents...
Was the above review useful to you?

One of the best shows ever made.I have been watching "Seinfield" religiously for the past three years, and I don't think I'll ever stop. This sitcom perfectly combined the two elements necessary to make a successful show: a wonderful cast and a brilliant writing team. Not only that, but it was able to bring in millions of people every week by, unlike other shows, having very few celebrity guest spots and almost no sex or profanity (not that there's anything wrong with sex and profanity). It's unfortunate that shows like "Seinfeld" only come around every 10 years or so. Now we're subjected to these new, extremely hyped, poorly written wastes of time slots like "Dark Angel" and "Yes, Dear."
