My girlfriend has never seen any SBTB until I showed her the DVDs - she likes The College Years most of all, and I've got to say, I agree with her.

Yeah I don't know why TCY got so many mixed views, I liked it. I think the main reason was that Leslie and Alex weren't seen as better than Lisa and Jessie, which I agree with, but they were still ok. TCY isn't as good as original SBTB for me, but it comes a pretty close second. It's way past The New Class. But if Zack and Kelly hadn't had been resurfaced then I wouldn't have been happy

I don't think it would have worked after the wedding, I think it was the perfect finale to the show, yes it may have been corny and unrealistic, but at least it got a happy ending and we weren't left wondering like with a lot of other shows that have got cancelled over the years.

yeah you're right, it was the perfect ending. although didn't love the fact that zack was in that new class ep 'goodbye bayside' without her. yeah i know tiffani was on 90210, but still felt strange her not being there

I never WATCHED TNC. In the ep. where some of the gang returns, do they elude to the fact the Zack and Kelly are married even though Kelly isn't in the ep.? Just curious.

yeah, if you don't get to WATCH the scene, zack comes in (cue the not-so-shocking audience screams) and slater says 'so hows the wife' and zack says 'good'. i know, not exactly fantastic, but at least something

That, and Zack's referred to as "the nephew" who is throwing a surprise party for his wife.

You guys have to remember that's not how they planned The College Years. It wasn't renewed for a second season, so real quick they wrote up the story of Zack and Kelly getting engaged to end the show. With this they thought the perfect way to end the show would be to have them get married in a tv movie. So it's not a matter of what would happen after the wedding, but what would've happened if the show continued without the wedding. My guess would be a much longer drawn out storyline of the whole Zack/Kelly/Lasky triangle and a much longer relationship between Zack and Kelly. The show just wasn't in a wise time-slot. They were up against "FULL HOUSE" and they were transforming from Saturday mornings to primetime on Tuesdays...that's not easy. I think they would've done better on Saturday mornings, but the maturity was a bit too much for Saturday mornings...and I can't say I would've honestly liked it if it was down-graded.

i believe that they knew that the colledge years was going downhill because they just couldn't compete with the other show.so they need an ending to close the series . thats why they had the wedding.

You're both right
But I'm not complaining, for me it was the perfect ending
I reckon they still would have ended it the same way anyway, if it had carried on. I would've liked to have seen a longer engagement between them but I still really liked TCY episodes

Like the most of you, I thought it was the perfect ending. It could have gone further but why screw good things up? I'm not saying if they continued it would be screwed up. I'm just saying that the ending was a perfect way to end things.

agreed... i think they probably would have gone the 90210 route with a bunch of love triangles, etc with zack & kelly ending up together eventually...

What I find so great about this, is that even though it felt rushed at the end, it really wasn't. Zack & Kelly were always supposed to be together and end up married. As corny as that sounds, it was written in the stars, or in this case, the writers made it written in the stars! Lol! Anyway, I have been re-watching TCY and I just love the last 4 episodes! They did seemed kinda rushed w/ the proposal and getting married and everything, but Zack & Kelly have technically been together since they were 5 years old, and know each other better than the back of their own hands. So, in some ways, to me, it wasn't rushed, but was a longtime coming after everything we have seen them go through as a couple and friends in their high school/college lives! I would have loved to maybe have seen a different storyline develop between these two in TCY if they show had continued, but IDK how much I would have enjoyed it b/c I would just be wanting them to be together, so I love the way the show/movie ended and that Zack & Kelly got their happy ending they deserved, despite how young they were.
