You have to see the episode. Did you see the episode? She was really weirded out. And then she WANTED to marry him but Jerry was back to his usual self and was all "I don't think it would work out" (very bluntly I might add).

Isn't it obvious that I've seen all of the episodes? Feels kinda weird to have to prove I've seen them all at this stage. Anyway, what I was trying to say is that The Serenity Now is not an indication. It's one of those "something changes, but in the end it changes back" episodes, & since these kinda episodes could be extremely problematic (Homer Loves Flanders, anyone?) I wouldn't take it so seriously. Seinfeld is not a drama or a soap opera, it's a comedy, & a comedy in which it's very clear that Jerry & Elaine will never get married or even get back together for that matter. Why are we even having this discussion?

I haven't seen the Dog, or the Stranded in about five years, and vaguely if at all remember them.

I said I watched them all way back, but I guess it wasn't in this thread.

to me, almost every ep in season 9 has the "here we go again" going-through-the-motions feeling, especially in the jerry's apartment scenes where the plots are layed out. The dialogue is less genuine and just used to set up the rest of the episode. Nothing is going to phase any of the characters, and im thinking to myself, "why are they bothering." its too run-of-the-mill at this point, which is why it is my contention that they stopped the show at the right time, maybe even a little late.

I used to love season nine, but the more and more I watch them, the more and more I dislike them. There are some really funny episodes in season nine, some even funnier than seasons four-six, but I think season nine by far, has the most number of worthless, pointless, not very amusing episodes. Take THE STRONGBOX for example, just watched this last night and I must say it is BORING & STUPID.
Kramer was so fucking annoying in this episode I just wanted to punch his frickin' lights out. I mean, what a damn moron, he acts more like a child in this one than he does in any other episode.
The Elaine and the poor/married guy thing was also very stupid. Why the hell would she ever be interested in this guy, ESPECIALLY after she finds out that he has NO money.
Honestly the only part of this STINKER of an episode I like is when George and Jerry are making fun of Elaine and her boyfriend at Monk's. They take turns bashing her poor "superhero." The best part being when she comes back a few seconds later after they drive her away---
Jerry: He can wipe out a checking account with a single bounce!!! (or something....)

Yeah, The Strongbox is one of the perfect examples for why many fans hate the season so much. Dreadful episode.
