Clearly the most maligned season, so why is it that I find it to be the most memorable one? By memorable I don't mean "classic" or "essential", but rather the literal meaning of the word: Namedrop an episode title from season nine & I'm quite sure I'll remember all of the characters' plots to the detail. This is not as likely to happen with other seasons for me (seasons six & seven especially are kind of a blur, & some aspects of season five). I'm not sure if this is because it's the last season so it's more fresh in my mind or because the scenes are shorter or what not.

That's because the plots in season 9 are so crazy that they're easy to remember. It's not really "nothing" in 9, as it is in most of the other seasons. It's more about absolutely everything that you would NEVER EVER experience in 10000000 years. I really liked season 9, it kinda had an "inmature charm" to it.

This is also because it was at the show's most popular point. Starting in Season 6, I'd say, people began really hopping on the Seinfeld bandwagon, and it just kept building until the Finale. So, they usually show more of season 9 in syndication, the majority of people like it best, and it's a mass audience type of comedy. Unlike seasons 1 through 3, which is for a select few of us that use more than 2% of our brains while watching TV.

I would say you're wrong about Seinfeld's popularity.
MY IDEAS:
It really became popluar late season 4, season 5. Everyone started watching the show after the emmy victory- enjoying what it was about, loving the original formula, really taking in the whole premise of the show. Season 5 is the prime point of this.
The massive audience kept watching through season 6, kept enjoying the formula, the ideas the characters.
Season 7, the basic original formula and premise was wearing thin among audience members that had been there since late season 4, season 5, no longer can the audience be surprised by the characters, theyve seen them for too long, so they change everything. The writing and the plots poke fun at the characters, instead of trying to surprise the audience with actions. This type of "third party" humor runs the show for the next three seasons. It keeps everyone there, watching- and excels in season 7 and 8.
Season 9: even this premise begins to run thin, there's no other premise that the writers resort to- instead of trying to find a new MO, (although occasionally they resort to one, ie george crossing the street in the frogger) or trying to run with the current one, Jerry calls it quits.
Of course this isn't written in stone, there are exceptions, but i believe for the most part this is correct.
Seinfeld audience peaks at season 5, doesn't dwindle ever.

Ya, I guess your right about the 2 percent of the brains thing. Yet I never found Seinfeld mentally confusing or anything like that. I never really thought of Seinfeld as a show only intelligent people watched or enjoyed or anything like that. I found it a comedy that everyone enjoyed. Cause you can get it even when you're a little kids. Except for the sexual themes. But there are some things that I DID learn from Seinfeld. Some BIG words, ect.

I like a lot season 8 and 9. The problem with the last season is that it have some episodes that are not that good. In the other side i think that the first 10 episodes of the 9 season are very good, the other ten (911-920) arent that good, but there are exeptions (well i like the wizard, the burning and the puerto rican day (there is a very funny part when kramer, george and jerry say their other names "Varnsen, Pennypecker, Vandalay...etc". Also note that after the 10th episode, in december, jerry said that the 9 was the last season of Seinfeld, this may cause the show to go downhill in the last episodes to come (well think that maybe the writers werent very enthusiastics and wanted that the show finish as early as possible).
Another thing: i dont know why so many people hated the finale. I think that the idea of the four of them in jail for doing nothing is a good ending of the show. (Remember that seinfeld was often called "the show about nothing"). Also the last conversation the had was the firts one, and the stuff in the first part was very funny as well (except for the part in the plane). About that i have a doubt... Have Elaine always loved Jerry??, in the last part we learned that she supossedly try to say "i always love uuunited airlines", but that is true???.

It's pretty safe to say that Elaine kept fancying Jerry all of these years, or at least keeping an eye on him. Whenever the opportunity was right, she would try & get back with him again, even if not for a long time.

...then why didn't she marry him when he asked? They're relationship was to complex to figure out. But, I suppose, Elaine liked Jerry more than Jerry liked Elaine. (Well, maybe not. Maybe that wasn't his TRUE feelings. Cause when his true feelings were let out he said he loved her but MAH!!!!!! Like I said, they're relationship is TOO COMPLEX!!!)

But surely Elaine didn't take it seriously, & that's what counts. Jerry doesn't bring up the subject again.
