I was watching The Pie today & noticed that they used a real location for Poppie's exterior. Does someone know where it is?

It could be anywhere, probably in Manhattan, and they digitally place the name "Poppie's" on the Awning. They do this at other places.

If you notice in the Bizarro Jerry, when they show the exterior of Kevin's apartment, there's a purple blur on the awning. This is because the shot is the same as the exterior of Jerry's apartment, simply reversed. If the writing hadn't been blocked out, it would have appeared backwards.

It looks real. I'm very impressed if they did though.

Did you see Titanic? -- they can do anything digitallly, including making half a boat that's not really there.

To be honest, the show was rather 'budget', as far as production values go, i dont think they would of bothered to digitally alter awnings would they?

Oh man after the first couple seasons NBC was throwing money at them i wouldnt doubt it. youll also notice that all major brands of food, or beverage was also thrown around no doubt thanks to some cash advances, Snapple for example was used a ton in like the 4th or 5th season.
