i was wondering... what was the episode that aired during the night where all the nbc shows had a blackout theme to them, but larry didn't want to give into it?
i remember it being mentioned in an inside look, but i don't want to dive into 6 seasons worth of episodes to find it.

I don't remember a "blackout" theme, but I remember that The Trip was given to Larry Charles when LD didn't want to do something for NBC.

I remember a Friends episode having a blackout theme to it and I read somewhere that that blackout occurred as a result of something that happened on Mad About You. Maybe that's what you're talking about.

I got this from tv.com about the 'Friends' Blackout episode:
This episode was part of NBC's "Blackout Thursday." Three of four must-see Thursday comedies centered around a blackout in New York City. On Mad About You, Paul and Jamie Buchman's attempt to get free cable created a blackout. After Friends and Seinfeld (on which there was no blackout story), most of the main characters were trapped in a tunnel on Madman of the People.
The Seinfeld episode that showed during the NBC blackout was season 6 "The Gymnast"

Thank god Seinfeld aired "The Gymnast," a great episode, instead of caving in to some shitty gimmick.

It would have been funny if Larry wrote a blackout episode just out of spite after that.
