If ever reading was the source of as much joy, it was once a month when the book orders came in. These delightful little catalogs were filled with interesting books, and a lot of cool toys and gadgets. I don't know how much money I conned my parents out of to buy things from these, but I remember being persistent. For me, it was always those books about ghosts and aliens, Power Rangers videotapes, and those aforementioned gadgets.
Sadly enough, I don't have many remaining items from these book orders. But the memories will last forever.

I remember these from when I was in elementary school, many stones ago. Our school also had a book fair once a year, usually closer to the spring. Most of my orders with go toward Goosebumps and Animorphs books, as I loved both of those back then. Ordered a few of the gadgets here and there, but they usually broke within a week. But I did get a fair share out of my parents (and grandfather) for this stuff. However, now a days I don't have any of this stuff. Sold all my Goosebumps (had the entire original set, as well as some of 2000). Sold what Animorphs I had then too.
Do these things still exist? I guess I'll find out if my nephew comes home from school with one of these in hand.

I also loved these as a kid. Whenever they came out I would always spend the rest of class circling the items that I wanted, and then would go home and beg Mom for them later on. It was usually the Magic Tree House books, the Adventures of Wishbone books, and Goosebump books that I wanted and would usually get. Then there were always the cool gadgets that I would always want, but never ended up getting.
The only non-book I think I ever got from a Scholastic Book Order was an M&M PlayStation game because the PlayStation games were going out by the time that one came out.

Who didn't love these things? I loved them. Everytime one would come in, I would go ask my parents if I could get anything from it. Like the others, I would usually want anything that came with a cool gadget. I think I bought a few Power Ranger books from a few book orders, actually.

Oh, these. These were amazing. I would go to the book fair and it was like getting candy becuase we could spend money on something.
I would buy a bunch of books with cool looking covers and end up never reading them. It was sad/fun/my childhood!
