I think everyone can agree that school was like a prison. However, there probably were a few good times or years at school in the 90's so here is where you can share them. I can remember most of my elementary years because they were a lot more fun then later on. What I remember the school would have free days or themed days like hat day or gum day. Also there were days where the gym class would be a fun course with obstacles with a theme usually around holidays or a jungle theme. Along with dodgeball and sledding or skiing in the winter. So what were some fond memories from school for everyone?

Overall, school for me growing up was hell on Earth. I've said this multiple times around here, but I lived in a trailer up until I was 16. So throughout my entire Elementary and Middle School years, I was in that trailer. While that may not seem important the administration in my school looked at me as less of a person. Because I didn't live in a nice house and my parents weren't kiss asses to the system.
While I did enjoy the friends I had there. Because that was my only chance to see them. So between lunch, recess and gym those were the only subjects I really enjoyed in grade school. The biggest highlight I have was in gym and being damn good at dodgeball. Me being a smaller guy I was quick and could jump decently high. Recess also had it's moments, because we used to jump the gate to the track for Middle & High School students (Cross Country, etc). We used to play football in the center of the track, where the actual football field is. Just because teachers wouldn't let us tackle each other in the grass area where we were supposed to be. #RebelliousSinceThe90s

My school only had 160 kids, so although I was deathly shy and freckly, no one really ever made any fun of me (high school was a whole other story). Actually, I got the best grades in the entire school every year from grade 4 onwards, so even if they did try to be mean, I had teachers to back me up. smile.gif
I do remember falling down one day in the 4th grade and scraping my hands and knees open. Naturally, I got up, laughed, and went to clean myself up. Seems some teacher saw me, and I was heralded as a war hero for a while for being so good-natured and courageous. I thought it was a bit funny that they (and my classmates) had expected me to be upset, but it was nice to get the extra attention for a while.

Hoo, boy, do I have some stories to tell...
(cracks knuckles)
Elementary School: few blocks away from my house. Didn't even have to ride the bus to get there, so the morning routine was pretty relaxed. That being said, my elementary years had their share of fun moments and their share of times I wish I could drop off the face of the earth.... and that's a promise (bonus points for whoever gets the reference). I still remember the old layout of the grounds, which lasted well until my fourth year when the bathrooms had to be torn down after one of the boys' bathroom sinks got ripped out of a wall (I STILL don't know how that happened). Oh, and I also learned the valuable lesson of how NOT to fight: NEVER shove someone, then turn around and THEN turn back around.
High School: Three words. Hell. On. Earth. Geometry sucked, Chemistry sucked, my attempts to be a recess comedian made half the seniors want to beat my ass in my first year, and I hated the uniforms. Also, remediation Fridays (read: punishment days) sucked, especially pulling grass. On the plus side, I made a few new friends, discovered the joys of Doctor Who (when I was supposed to be looking up stuff for an assignment), and my second English teacher was pretty cool.

I hated High School, even though I was in two of the five sports teams for the school, for some reason I was picked on constantly, maybe it had to do with my extremely bushy red hair, or maybe it had to do with the fact my father was a alcoholic asshole that pissed people off in town on a regular basis. Or maybe it was just because I was so damn pickable on (nerd alert) either way it still sucked.
My teachers were lackadaisical at best and at worst, didn't even seem to care there was a dice game going on in the corner. I finally was expelled from my high school as a sophomore for bashing the vice principals jaw for grabbing my red bushy hair, ended up doing the rest of my high school education in a continuation school for troubled teens.
