The Limo - B+ I find this one just a tad overrated. Everything up until we realize George is supposed to be a nazi is classic Jerry-George stuff; afterward it's mixed. I'm not a big fan of some of Larry Charles' episodes because some of them are farces or turn into farces. It's too easy; you can imagine the thought process (and Larry Charles even "admits" this in the inside look). They need something to happen, so they think of the craziest thing possible, and the episode will write itself from there. Now that I'm done complaining, I actually find the nazi stuff amusing, but it's just kinda overbearing at times.

The Fix-up - A- This is a thin episode. Looking at the script, Kramer is only there to give out condoms and break up fights. Elaine and Jerry are just involved in the George plot. So, more than any other episode I can remember, George is the main character. The fact that this episode is thin is a flaw, because there aren't overlapping plots and little things to pick up on while rewatching, but the material that's here is great; this is very down-to-earth, universal stuff that anyone could appreciate. One of my favorite scenes of the series is George asking Jerry what the girl looks like.

The Parking Space C- An episode which starts off well but midway through fades away, Its does drag, and the whole parallel parking scenario grows old, I do like it when Kramer turns the tables on Jerry regarding Mike and also Kramer's reaction to Elaine for not inviting him to the flea market, but it doesn't maintain the high quality of other eps.

So many great conversations and arguments.

The Parking Space - B- I must say the premise of the episode makes this the most frustrating episode ever to watch. This may have been intentional, but it is kind of unpleasant to watch this. Still, there are enough good moments in this episode for me to give it a decent grade. The bald guy is a very funny character, and I appreciate him even more after watching the bloopers. There are several little moments like Jerry accidentally revealing to the kid that his father's business is closing.

The Keys - B This is a Kramer episode, but I get the feeling the writers weren't quite used to writing for him. Let me put this another way...this episode would've been funnier in the 5th season. However, there are plenty of amusing moments. Just a very average episode.

The Trip Pt. 1 - D+ I'm having trouble remembering any laugh-out-loud moments from this episode, so I lowered my grade a smidge. There are very small chuckles here and there. Maybe I should lower it again, but there's nothing I actually hate about this episode.

The Trip Pt. 2 - B Car stuff is good here. I think I already wrote a review for these in the Larry Charles thread, so I'm lazy with it.

I haven't been doing this for awhile because it's hard for me to distinguish which jokes were in which episodes from the four episodes The Pitch/The Ticket/The Wallet/The Watch. Also, they just aren't very entertaining. I'll just give an overall grade for those four episodes: B-

The Bubble Boy - B+ This is a little overrated if you ask me. Somehow it feels...disjointed (that's probably the wrong word). It didn't make sense to me why Kramer and Jerry's gf went to the cabin, and it requires some thought just to follow who's going where and why. Jerry and Elaine's story with stopping at the diner was okay; the stuff with George is the only reason this episode is memorable, and that one story alone almost makes this episode great.

The Cheever Letters - A/A- Awesome episode, and among the most underrated episodes ever. The only flaw is that Susan's parents didn't feel real to me. Maybe their personalities are too broad or exaggerated, I'm not sure.

The Opera - A- It took me awhile to warm up to this one. This has a very Larry Charles feel to it; it's very dark, but it works very well. One of my favorite Elaine moments is her reaction to Joe Davola's apartment, and Kramer's fear of clowns makes me laugh just thinking about it.

The Opera is a close to horrid episode with a strange plot that doesn't work on Seinfeld and a couple even stranger scenes. Joe D beating up those thugs in the park just isn't Seinfeld.
Even the fact that Elaine and Jerry know some wacko like that, and they devote an entire episode to his wackiness, just doesn't work. THe "impending doom" and danger that the episode tries to convey just doesnt work. Its just not funny to see Jerry and Eliane genuinely scared of Davola, and here I don't even think its trying to be funny. It borderlines in trying to actually be scary, and I think that's a mistake.

I'm not sure why I like it, so I can't really defend it. I will say that Larry Charles took a risk, and this time it worked for me. I think Crazy Joe Davola is one of the few out-there characters I've ever liked on Seinfeld, and was a lot more interesting than most of the quirky one-timers in season 8 and 9.
I'm glad the episode was made just for variety's sake.
Anyway, I don't understand your complaint...apparently because of only a few scenes you dislike, you think this episode is "close to horrid". I don't know why everything must be so black-and-white with you; didn't you think Julia's acting was great and funny when she was in Crazy Joe's apartment?
