The Opera was a great episode. Whether it's George's hilarious appearance in a tux, Kramer and George competing to scalp tickets, or Jerry and Elaine's total unawareness that they're talking about the same person, this episode is funny hands-down. You'd have to be a fool not to like it. A

The Note - not horrid
The Conversion - not horrid
The Scofflaw - not horrid
The Sponge - not horrid
The Nap - not horrid
The Finale - opinions differ
Besides a few bad apples, Season 4 was the 2nd best season and included many gems, and just because an episode placed low doesn't mean it was disliked. Usually only the bottom 2 or 3 episodes have that distinction. But I liked the episode and would have placed it much higher in my personal rankings.

The Virgin - B A bunch of pretty funny stuff happens here, but none of the story lines are really classic if you ask me. By this time, the pilot is becoming a nuisance.

The Airport - A+ Two A+ episodes in a row. This also happens in season 6 for me. Kinda strange, because I think there are (imo) eight or so in the entire series. As for these two episodes, no comment needs to be made, I've never seen anyone make a negative comment about either.

The Pick - A Slightly let down by the strange "pick" monologues simultaneously given by Jerry and Elaine. Just doesn't feel Seinfeldy to me. Otherwise, this episode has a ton of great moments and should be mentioned more often. Kramer is really hilarious in every scene he's in.

The Visa - B Great George story, but the rest of the episode falls flat. I've noticed that in some of the more average episodes, George's story is still great (The Gymnast is probably the best example)

I've made negative comments about the contest. I still maintain that it could have been better with a better ending. Instead Jerry's girlfriend simply walks out after he stupidly tells her about the contest, in a very perfunctory ending that seemed to lack interest and effort. Compare the ending to the Outing, and it definitely lacks originality and surprise.

^Good point. I've always felt the episode was overrated, but I could never figure out why and I could never really find any flaws in the episode, so just give it an A+ and not talk about it. But you're right, there are several episodes that twist storylines together in more amusing and clever ways, though this is one of the first episodes to do that.

The Movie - D The biggest misfire of season 4, and easily the worst "nothing happens" episode. The humor is based around frustrating circumstances that are simply frustrating to watch. Unlike the other nothing-happens episodes, there are no amusing conversations to fill up the episode. The characters' descriptions of each other are a little funny, but it feels desperate and easy. I got amusement from a few token lines and from Larry David's lines in the movies, and that's it.

The Movie is one of my most disliked Seinfelds. It's really awful.

The Outing - A+ This is somewhere in my top 5 best and funniest episodes. It's also the only episode that everyone I've shown it to has really responded to. It's just so easily accessible, I imagine you could have never seen an episode of Seinfeld and still enjoy watching this one.

The Shoes - C+ Meh. Barfing and cleavage...as a Seinfeld fan, I'd expect more (though I only complain about cleavage as a Seinfeld fan). Elaine inexplicably getting irate with someone asking about her shoes is funny stuff (and I'm not sure why) but it's nothing to write home about. Overall, less than decent.
