Life with the Bundies Married...with Children was a great show about an unloving family. The head of the family Al Bundy was played by Ed O'Neill, who was a women's shoes salesman and who didn't want to have sex with his wife.Katey Sagal was playing Peggy Bundy, the red head mother and the wife, who got her best tips from TV.The son Bud Bundy was played by David Faustino, who wanted the girls but didn't get them too often.Christina Applegate played the daughter Kelly Bundy, who had the look, but didn't have the brains. The smartest in the Bundy family was Buck the dog.Amanda Bearse played the neighbour Marcy Rhoades D'Arcy, whose relationship with Al wasn't that great.Marcy's husband Steve Rhodes was played by David Garrison, but after he left, the new man was Jefferson D'Arcy, played by Ted McGinley. The show had many jokes about sex and fat women. The show had good ten years.

Satire at its best Perhaps the reason that this show never won any Emmy awards is that it is satire. Satire is often misunderstood to be insult.
This is the classic tale of the all-American working man and his family. Every cliche of gooey sitcoms over the years is made fun of. This is one of the only really funny sitcoms -- in fact, it is the anti-sitcom.

The Best, funniest sitcom EVER made. I'm sorry it's over! This is truly American television at its best. I have never watched a sitcom where the characters are so well developed. Anybody who does not like this show is prude and boring, simple as that! Al Bundy plays the funniest Husband/Father on TV. His life is basically a joke. He sarcastically acts like he can't stand his wife and 2 kids(Kelly and Bud). He works as a shoe salesman and complains about his job, drives a beat up car, and fights with his neighbors Steve and Marcy. Steve is replaced later in the series by Ted McGinley who plays Jefferson. The script is so brilliant and the writers who helped create this show are to credit for the shows enormous success. The script is full of PG-13 rated raunchy humor and nonstop laughs.
I could probably name every episode as my fave and its really hard to break it down into just a few. All I can say is I'm truly disappointed Married With Children eventually got discontinued after over 10 seasons and I was very disappointed in the very last episode. All in all..Al Bundy is GOD! and I cant wait for a reunion episode.

The best sitcom ever! I first watched episodes of Married With Children in 1989 on FOX Network TV during the time when a Michigan housewife named Terry Rakolta tried to organize a boycott of the TV sitcom for its "unabashed raunchiness." But I immediately liked the episodes that I saw and I became an instant fan. The characters where the most nasty ever of any sitcom. Although they occasionally let it slip that they cared for each other, every member of the household (even the family dog Buck) seemed bent on belittling and putting down each other. The Bundys were incredibly, vicious, mean-spirited, selfish, cruel and unapolgetic. Al Bundy was a lowly, chauvinist shoe salesman who worked a local shopping mall; his tall, redhead wife of 15+ years, Peggy, was a lazy housewife; and their juvenile delinquent kids, Kelly (age 15 in 1987) and Bud (age 12 in 1987), were always at each other's throats. Al's bedroom prowess, or lack of it, was the frequent topic of the shows, as well as Al's job. He was disliked by most of the town because he was a shoe salesman and that shoe salesman are the lowest of the low for they even rank below the homeless (a running joke used throught the series. Other running jokes included raunchy jokes about impotence, remarks about Peggy's always unseen obese mother, degrading jokes about fat women, and disparaging remarks about other TV network stations, CBS, NBC and ABC, all of which are FOX's competitors.) Al Bundy, in my opion, was the best bigot since All In The Family's character of Archie Bunker. Peggy never cooked, cleaned, or had a real job, Kelly became a sexpot with an IQ always one point lower than her age, and Bud was the loser who was so wrapped up in himself to know even how to come on to a member of the opposite sex and he seldom suceeded.
David Garrison and Amanda Bearse were equally good as the Bundy's next door neighbors, Steve and Marcy Rhoades. I was a little disapointed when David Garrison quit the series in early 1990, but my intrest in the Bundy's never ceased. Ted McGinley, joined the cast a year later as Marcy's new husband Jefferson D'Arcy, a gigalo and ex-con, who like Peggy, never had a real job and lived off Marcy's money.
If MWC was not the best sitcom, it was certainly longest running and the most funniest which set the theme for other sitcoms of today. But none of them will ever be as funny and as noticing as Married With Children. I miss watching it, but I will never forget it.

My favorite episode and some lines I can't forget from the series I've read the comments and looks like we all like MWC. I stayed with the show through thick and thin. There were a few years when the writing went downhill, but it came back up during the last 2 or 3 years of the show's run.
Anyway, my favorite episode HAS to be the one concerning the Barbie doll. The scene where Al is stuck in bed with Marcy is a CLASSIC (much like the scene in All In The Family where Archie's neice goes out with Lionel, the black neighbor) and when Jefferson comes in and forces Al out the window is nothing short of hilarious. My eyes are filling up with tears of laughter thinking of that scene.
Now for a few unforgettable lines I like:
the episode where the Dodge turns over to 1,000,000 miles: Al turns on the radio and a cowboy is singing "And that's when my hound dog, started looking good to me"
I forget what episode this was in, but Bud kicks his family out so he can study. He says to Buck the dog, "looks like it's just you and me". Bucks says to himself: "Uh oh. I've seen porno movies that start out like this."
I had an idea for a storyline: Al's favorite strip club, The Nudie Bar, is burned down. Was it accidental or was it set by Marcy "Chicken Legs" Darcy and her anti-male friends?
What do you think of that plot? Could it have worked?
I almost submitted this without saying which of Marcy's husbands I liked better. I like Steve just a little bit better. He had that straight face that never cracked a smile no matter how ridiculous Al got. Jefferson was goo too, don't get me wrong.

A Vey Funny and Groundbreaking Show "Married...with Children" is a very funny and groundbreaking show. It pushed the envelope when it came to comedy and it was always on the cutting edge. This show is great because the cast works so well together. Every time I see this show on T.V. I will always make time to watch it.

the greatest show I've ever seen. I agree with everyone who have posted comments on Married...with Children. This is the funniest tv show in the history of t.v. I miss it.Even the episodes with Seven were funny.Every episode is a classic of situation comedy in my opinion. I watch it three times a night, twice on FX and at midnight on FOX.I've memorized just about all of Al's lines. It really stinks that it isn't on anymore.Oh well there's always reruns. The only complaint I have are the dumb spinoff episodes. At least they got rid of them.

Very funny situation comedy. I am a big fan of Married With Children and have been getting reacquainted with the Bundy's thru syndicated airings on the FX Channel. This show lasted 10 years, so I won't even have to tell you how good it was. I don't find this as the funniest series of all time. But at the same time, I have found particular episodes to be some of the funniest in the history of television. If you ever see the episode where Bud Bundy has an affair with his teacher, you're going to be on the floor rolling with laughter.

The Best of the best, deserves a better Ending!!! There are only 4 sitcoms I can think of that truly changed TV, saved by the bell, roseanne, Seinfeld, and Married with Children. What they all have in common besides great raw humor was Guts and a lot of it. So what upset me the most and I'm sure all of you feel the same way was the way it ended, No final episode! It was just canceled! Just like Soap was in 1981. Married with Children made the FOX network!!
It was on for 10 years 259 episodes and it was FOX's first hit show and was FOX's cash cow for years and they had the nerve to cancel it without a final goodbye. So what I would love to see is for it to be brought back as a movie!
A theatrical movie on the big screen. I believe it would be a great movie for someone like the Ferrelly bros. or the Coen bros. I always thought it should either be a movie (rated R naturally) or on cable so it can really let loose.
I mean its a no brainier! Look at the Vacation movies, the Bundys are way more hilarious then the Griswalds! $100 million box office just waiting to happen! But what ever happens PLEASE at least give it a real final ending.

The Best TV. Sitcom Ever. Let's Cheer For The Bundy's Without a doubt this was the funniest TV show ever, it seems as if though ever episode made me laugh a little harder. Now you can view the reruns on the FX cable network channel, Fox's Married With Children portrayed the basic American family. To describe there's Al Bundy (Ed O' Neill) as the lazy obnoxious having to earn your living shoe salesman and support your entire family in the process. Peggy Bundy (Katey Sagal) as your TV obsessed lazy house wife spending her husband's earnings. Kelly Bundy (Christina Applegate) as your typical stupid, but beautiful blond all sex and beauty, but no brains. Bud Bundy (David Faustino) as the horny never getting any woman chaser, but yet the brains of the family no brawn and all brain. Then the D'Arcy's Marcy (Amanda Bearse) the nosey gossiping sexy rude next door neighbor wife with the hunk of a husband the prissy lazy unemployed Jefferson (Ted McGinley). To sum it up there is not a person in America who doesn't know people and families who are just like the Married With Children characters. The characters portray American life so well in a funny way, and the show has some the better sex jokes ever. Everyone can relate to the Bundy's attitudes and way of life. The only difference from that of real life the show does it in such a comical way. Great show one of the best ever I rate this 10 out of 10.

The best, greatest, funniest sitcom ever been produced Married... with children IS the best sitcom in the world. Although it has been canceled after 11 years the Bundys still are alive. They are shown in over 20 countries all over the world. I think we will never forget Al the salesman who sells shoes to fat women, Peg who will never get a job, Kelly the blond stupid girl, Bud (Grandmaster B) with his girls, Marcy, Jefferson, Steve and all the other characters.
I only hope that there will be a great spinoff one time...

One of the best sitcoms...... I loved and I still love this show! If you missed this show the first time around, you should watch the reruns on FX. Kelly the dumb blonde, Bud the dateless geek, Al the Shoesalesmen, Peg the jobless bonbon eating redhead, Jefferson the jobless love slave of Marcy. It is of my favorite shows.

Hysterical! 10/10 This series is hysterical. I cannot think of another show that is this funny. This show maybe politically incorrect but that is what makes so darn funny. Too bad it is not on anymore except for repeats. If you have time take it to watch this show.

Very funny I really liked this show. They shouldn't of cancelled this show (but come to think of it the Bundys were getting old) because despite some stupid jokes, this was funny (and where else are you going to see a sitcom with a family that has the same name of a serial killer). Not always bright, but always entertaining.

Still the funniest show on TV.
Married With Children has to be by far the funniest show ever. Everything Al says is funny. The fact that Peg does absolutely nothing to p**s Al off is funny. Kelly being the stupidest person on television is funny. Jefferson and Bud are the biggest losers, but still make me laugh. And the conversations and fights between Al and Marcy are comedy at it's best. If you dont watch this show WATCH IT! Weeknights on FOX at 10:00 and 10:30.
