The best show on earth!
*POSSIBLE EPISODE SPOILER!*Married...With Children is a great show! I'm sorry it was cancled. 10 great years of the Bundys! Al Bundy the main character is a lazy women's show salesmen who has to put up with "Fat Women" I love all his insults toward fat women! Such as "There were only two women, but it was wall to wall" and "She was so fat she had three other women circling her!" He hates his wife, who doesnt work, doesnt clean, doesnt cook, and doesnt do anything but spend Al's very low paycheck. Bud Bundy is the sex-crazed teenager who has a "rubber women" because he can never get a real one! Kelly Bundy is of course the character all the men go after. She the sexy yet stupid girl. She can a man anytime she wants! Marcy is a "Chicken" and I love it when Al and her fight. Steve, her first husband, wasn't really as funny as Jefferson. Jefferson must live off Marcy, because he cant get a job. The other characters like "Officer Dan" and the friends, also made it a great show. Al and his buddies love going to the "Nudie Bar" or "Juggly Room" Al hates all women except those of course that are sexy porn stars. This show was great! I love it how everything is going great on the show, then something goes wrong to spoil it. Mainly for Al. My favorite episode was the two parter where Al and family move into the supermarket. Then when they are forced to leave, they cut in front of Marcy, and when a free shopping spree. Marcy and Jefferson must compete with Al and Peg. I cant beleive they cancled this show! I have almost every episode on tape. I loved this show. 10/10!

Best sitcom ever! This show was the best sitcom ever! I do think the people at FOX made a huge mistake by canceling them in 1997. I understand that all good things must come to an end but compared to some of the things that are on network television today there will never be another show like Married with Children again. Thank god for FX on cable and satellite.

One of the best of all time. 10/10 This is one of my top five shows of all time. I love kelly and buck they was so funny but to bad they stop airing the show. But I dont understand how can they have a nice house like that and not a nice job. I wish I had a house like that. So if you want to see this show you can catch it all day long on cable because this is the best show of all time.

Do I really even have to tell you? Do I even have to tell you how great this show is??? Every episode is wonderful. Reruns come on FX a lot and you should catch them whenever possible. This is that killer true to life show that your parents said you shouldn't watch and then they watched it as a dirty little secret. This show is pure fun and comedy. Christina Applegate is the show's shining star even though Ed O'Neil also does a great job. Nice nasty comedy with great acting! It stayed on ten years, that should tell ya something!

Married With Children is the greatest show ever I love Married With Children, I think it is the best, and funniest show ever.FOX, and the creators are geniuses.I laugh out loud every time i watch it.It is good to watch in syndication, because there are so many episodes you don't see the same ones all the time.I really miss watching new episodes of the show, but i am really glad that i can still watch reruns.I don't understand why it was cancelled, the ratings were good and everyone liked the show. I wish there was a final episode, but maybe in the future there will be a final episode or a reunion.

The best show to ever come on TV This is the greatest show ever. The majority of show either start out a bit weak and/or end out weak. But Married with Children is the opposite of that. 99 % of the episodes are funny and poignant. This show is like a more realistic Simpsons. A lot of people say this show is bad because it is a bit trashy, but don't listen to them. This show was the beginning of dysfunctional family sitcoms. Anyways, what's great about this show is that the majority of episodes could be repeated over and over again and not be annoying. This is one of the few sitcoms that are actually funny. It's just a shame that his show isn't as famous as other crappier sitcoms.

Raunchy, vulgar and devoid of any intellectual value...ONE OF THE FUNNIEST SHOWS EVER!!! "Married with Children" is the kind of show that does nothing for civilization and has no moral value...yet I got some of the biggest laughs in TV history from this show. It is still one of my all-time favorites. I even enjoy watching the repeats over and over again. That's when you know a show is great.
As for Al Bundy, could they have created a funnier TV character than him? He is one of my favorite TV characters, and I sometimes try to imitate him. My friends even jokingly thought of starting a "No Ma'am" group of our own. Speaking of "No Ma'am" one of my favorite episodes is the one where Al starts his own Church, in order to avoid paying taxes. He rants and raves like the stereotypical evangelist, only he has two scantily-clad women by his side. Then Marcy and her feminist group come marching in, showing everyone pictures of Al and Peggy on a romantic date. Everyone gasps. In response, Al imitates Jimmy Swaggart by shedding tears and screaming out, "I have sinned." That was genius! When they one day show a retrospective of the funniest moments in TV history, that scene should definitely be shown. Ed O'Neill plays the character so perfectly, and I was amazed to see that he's actually nothing like his character in real life. He's a very nice, soft-spoken guy. Yet he couldn't be any more convincing as that character. Al Bundy will be his legacy!
The supporting cast is great. David Faustino, Christina Applegate, Katey Sagal, David Garrison and Ted McGinley are all very talented. But I could never understand why Bud had trouble getting girls. Faustino's a pretty good-looking guy. Acting-wise, he couldn't be any better, but they could've picked a less attractive actor to have his persona be more convincing.
Yes, the show may appear to be misogynistic. All the female characters are either airheads, whiny housewives or overweight. But I think in a way it's poking fun at misogynism. I don't think the show ever glamourizes the act of misogynism. Just look at the male characters. They're a bunch of beer-drinking slobs. Would you want to follow their philosophies on life? But I do admit, I enjoy the presence of many scantily clad babes on each episode. Hey...if women want to make a show where macho guys appear on every episode in thongs, be my guest! I won't watch it, but it doesn't offend me. If women find "MWC" offensive, don't watch it! You have a remote--use it!
There are so many memorable moments on the show that I will have to take up this whole message board to jot them all down. I will just mention two:
When Peggy painted the bathroom pink and made it girly-looking, and Al was frightened at the sight of it. So when the inspectors came to check it out, Al empties a bag with five sandwiches inside. The song "Bad to the Bone" plays as Al scarfs down every sandwich, drowning each one with hot sauce. He grabs a newspaper, tucks it under his arm and runs straight to the bathroom. The inspectors come running out, the toilet flushes and Al leaves the bathroom proudly.
When Al accidentally got circumsized. He would be afraid to look at anything even mildly stimulating because he was afraid a stitch would break.
But as much as I liked the show, I felt good that it was cancelled. Because the last season reeked!!! I don't know what went wrong, but the writing was drab and contrived, the acting was flat--Al didn't seem like Al anymore! He was actually turning into sort of a nice guy! The show lost all its energy. But for all the previous seasons, I absolutely adored the show. And I regard it as a classic!
My score: 9 (out of 10)

THE BUNDY'S RULE!!! What else can you say about Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, or David Faustino? Or as the world, including me, and I still do it at times, has started calling them Al, Peggy, Kelly, and Bud Bundy. THEY RULE!!! Bud, Kelly, and Peggy did okay, but as we all know, it was Al who stole the show.
He had some sorry, nosy, won't leave alone neighbors too. Amanda Bearse was Marcy D'Arcy/Rhoades, David Garrison was Steve Rhoades, and Ted McGinly was Jefferson D' Arcy. Boys, MWC really was the greatest show on television. And one of the most famous scene's:
Peggy: "Then it's your fault!"
Al: "From the minute I said I do!"
(A TISKET, A TASKET, CAN PEGGY MAKE A BASKET)
My favorite, Al Goes To The Dogs, is hilarious. And it was also one of the most popular one's.
Anyhow, I will DEFINANTLY GIVE THIS: Because it deserves it:
10 outa 10
Married... With Children: Thanks for the good laughs and comedy! I loved it!

The best comedy ever. How could anyone hate this show?. Al Bundy is perhaps the funniest character that has ever been on television period. His family and buddies are funny as well, and all the goofy things that happens to Al is great too. (My favorite episode is when Al gets a tip on a horse race, but he ends up getting all these tickets. And ends up losing his license. Leaving him to ride a bicycle to work because no one would take him and misses out on his race.) There are so many funny episodes of this series I could not mention them all. The Steve character was good, but he left before they could really develop him any further, and Jefferson was every bit as funny as Al was. Of all the comedies of the late 1980's to mid 1990's, Married with Children is by far the best sit-com on television. Really there has not been another great comedy like this one, but thank god that FX and several local stations still show the re-runs nightly. If by some chance you've never seen this show, watch it. Married With Children is great.

Why Was it Cancelled? This show is the greatest! It's also the very first sitcom for Fox. Let me tell you, this show had a pretty lame start. When you look at first season episodes now they look real dumb because we're used to Bud and Kelly was young adults and Jefferson. I mean, in the pilot episode Al wouldn't shut up about his juice. Season 3 started all the ribaldness. But this old broad in Michigan didn't like the bra episode. Boy, what a whiner.
Soon we all met Jefferson and the show picked up. I can't really name my favorite episodes because there are so many. I like the one where Al and Kelly shoot a movie about shoes, but it was entitled "Sheos", thanks to Kelly. I also like the one where Al, Griff and Jefferson join the National Guard during a garbage strike. Yeah! Classic, but why did Fox eventually cancel this show? If there was any justice, it would still be on today. Like The Simpsons. I look forward to the day when Married...with Children get's a reunion show. It must! All the greats got ones. Beverly Hillbillies got one. Gilligan's Island got three! The Facts of Life got one not too long ago, Laverne & Shirley got one--kind of, Get Smart had one, All in the Family almost had one, and Married...with Children must have one! There could even have been a Married movie! Married couldn't have been done without Ed O'Neill.
But imagine what it would've been like had Sam Kinison gotten the role. Everyone else in the cast was good too! Today, Katey Sagal is the voice of Leela on that Godawful show "Futurama". The other cast members aren't doing much these days.
In conclusion, this was a fine show. It must always be remembered! It, much like Seinfeld, can be seen in reruns.

A Childhood favorite I haven't seen this show since it was canceled back in `97 but I used to love this show! It was hilarious! I remember when I was a kid and this show was perhaps my favorite. Also I'm going to be honest and say that Jefferson was better than Steve. I know that it took a long time before people began to like Jefferson but Jefferson was cool because he was a great partner to Al. While Steve was a great partner to Marcy. Anyway, this show was funny during it's entire 10 year, 11 season run. Ed O`Neil was hilarious as Al, Peg was lazy, funny, and at times sexy, Kelly was always sexy and at times funny, Bud was a character you would pity and laugh to at the same time, Marcy was a great "enemy" to Al, and Jefferson was a great partner.
No Ma'am was hilarious! Buck was funny and Lucky wasn't and Steve needed a lot of improvement but he was still funny.

You need to watch it to believe it!!! "Married...With Children" has to be one of the greatest comedy series in history of life! The show was hilarious, the chemistry between the actors is amazing. This show rocks!!! In fact, this show started all the family problem thing, before the Simpsons. This show is heavily underrated, and deserves more recognition and respect. Ed O'Neill was the star of the series as Al Bundy, the shoe salesman. Al attributes all his problems and failures to Peg, his wife (Katey Sagal). To make it more complicated, Al has 2 children, Bud -the loser son, and Kelly -the sexy hot blonde that has no brain, and they create new problems for Al. Al Bundy has to be one of the greatest heroes in Television History, he's always in trouble and behind the wall with terrible situations but he manages to keep his good sense of humor. The sex jokes were hilarious, they'll making you laugh off your socks. Every character was perfectly ellaborated, even Buck the dog.
I agree, Jefferson (Ted McGinley) is a great buddy to Al but that buddy relationship left a lot to wish. Marcy (Amanda Bearse) is very funny, and she can get Al out of his mind.
"Married..." was cancelled for 2 reasons. 1) The show didn't work as it use to from season 1 to 5. Then it went down, jokes were lame, Al was the main character not leaving space in the show for the rest of the cast. 2) The cast, and the wrtiers tried to make "Married..." like the rest of the hit seaons of the time, forgeting about the original "Married..." storyline, and it's own sense of humor. I was very sad after the last episode. I think that this series deserved a better ending, and this final episode came very late. I'm sure that the series had more potential in the end, I just don't know why it changed that much, it wasn't "Married" in the end, the show seemed like a cartoon.
What makes this show a winner, it's the actors, and the great chemistry that exist between them. The plot and jokes were damn hilarious. You can't ask for more, watch "MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN" to witness one of the funniest shows ever, one of the best sitcoms in history, and the best "problem family" show uncensored. No wonder how it lasted for 11 years, this show is on the top10 of all time best sitcoms. 10/10

A Great Resource for the Resourceless Tom Sharpe once wrote the following regarding one of his characters: "Like so many great men, Lord Petrefact loathed his nearest and dearest..."
Many of us identify with Lord Petrefact, but are at a loss to express ourselves in this "don't worry--be happy," never-say-anything-negative world. We have very few role models to lead us against appalling, manipulative family members, and have often resigned ourselves to our fate. We've gone about our lives lacking the words to easily repel the smiley-face squads.
The Bundys are a superb resource for people like us. We can't and shouldn't adopt a Bundy-like demeanour to truly nice, kind people. But the Bundys suggest to us what we can say to obnoxious relatives and neighbours -- our nearest and (supposedly) dearest, who want US to do THEIR bidding so THEY can receive undue obedience, money, goods or status from OUR successes or aspirations.
For example, in one episode, Al thinks of buying a new car. Peg, Kelly and Bud all sneer at the type of car he chooses, telling him high-handedly what kind each of them particularly thinks he should buy -- i.e., what they want HIM to buy to satisfy THEM. Al does what most of us should do in such circumstances: He spreads his arms in a great paternal gesture, smiles broadly, and says, "Your wishes [slight pause for effect] mean nothing to me." It's extremely refreshing to hear. And it's very, very funny. The fact that virtually every character appearing throughout the show's long run was extremely sleazy allows this sort of repartee to continue uninterrupted.
God bless Al Bundy. The show has changed my life.

Was this show one of the funniest ever of the late 80's and throughout the 90's? You bet. So hilarious, you'll cry laughing. Hard. However, during the show's run the series spawned a sequel to it called "Unhappily Ever After' which was really dumb(and which also had a puppet for a family pet which was stupid which ran for one season on FOX,and then this atrocity ran for six seasons on the WB) and so forth. During its run the show was under fire for being too sexist and was in fact degrading women and that's when the network was about to pull the plug on "Married With Children",but due to it's huge fan base, the series survived until its final episode in 1997 ending it's 11 year run on the air.
Catch the episodes on FX.
